Abstract:
This study aims to explore the evolving attitudes and behaviors towards sexuality among the Vietnamese population in light of cultural, social, and economic changes. By analyzing prevalent sexual norms, education, and practices, we seek to understand how traditional values intersect with contemporary influences.
Introduction:
Vietnamese society has been undergoing rapid transformation over the past few decades. As the nation integrates more deeply into the global economy and culture, local attitudes towards sex and sexuality have also evolved. Traditional Vietnamese culture, heavily influenced by Confucian values emphasizing modesty and family honor, is seeing shifts due to exposure to global ideologies and lifestyle changes.
Methodology:
The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The quantitative segment included a diverse sample of 1,000 respondents aged 18-45 from urban and rural areas. The qualitative aspect involved in-depth interviews with 50 participants from varied social backgrounds, providing a more nuanced understanding of attitudes and behaviors.
Findings:
- There is a notable generational gap, with older individuals often adhering to conservative views, emphasizing abstinence before marriage.
